This may seem like a bold statement but....
The above quote from Gary Craig, founder of EFT, illustrates some of the illuminating and amazing characteristics of this extraordinary energy therapy.
But just what do we get from this borrowing benefits aspect of EFT?
Every week I facilitate a Tapping Circle, a group of people all tapping on a wide variety of different issues, yet all able to get relief or resolution on their own issues simply by tapping along with other people.
There are lots of theories as to how and why this method works so well but we have noticed that issues amplify quickly and seem to dissolve just a s rapidly. Often, this process is much quicker than in one-to-one sessions but it doesn't necessarily go as deep because there just isn't the time to focus as there is in private sessions.
Out of curiosity, the group have been looking for and noticing associations and synchonicities with each other's issues. It could be that there is a commonality running through all human problems and it's often the characteristics of the person and the depth of the experience involved in the issues that distinguishes them.
That's why, if I fall off my bike and hurt my knee, although it's a knee pain like yours was when you fell of your bike at the same age, we are different so the effects, the trauma, the pain, everything about it and the resultant behaviours over the years will be different.
And this is good.
Because it helps us to understand that, if you have a particular illness. it doesn't matter that I had it one time and I found it easy to get over. You might find it very hard to get over and that doesn't make you any more or less of a person than me. It makes you you, and me, me. We are different. you have your thing going on and I have mine.
But, even better, as a result of tapping with you on your issue and not mine, my own pain and suffering has reduced. This leads me to feel that, by supporting you in healing yourself, I have received healing myself.
So, by giving to you, I have received. How weird is that?
Not weird at all, you say. So if it's not weird, and it's something you reckon we should all be aware of as if it's common knowledge, what happens if I begin giving lots of positive love-based energy to you, and you, and you???
There's a long way to go on this Tapping journey, but we are beginning to see some simple lessons coming to glorious fruition that have long been in the public intellectualised domain. ie. 'Give to Receive.' Borrow Benefits by Supporting Benefits. Astounding.
It's as if EFT has been discovered as one of the most simple and profound multiple-intelligence learning tools available to us. and all we are doing is sitting in a room together, tapping parts of our skin with our fingertips. Does it really get any easier to promote good into the world?
